The primary goal of the Musée de Nimy is to collect and safeguard everything to do with the industrial history of the old village of Nimy. It has now become the specialist ceramics centre of the Mons-Borinage region and the departments of Nord and Pas-de-Calais.The collections belonging to the Musée de Nimy cover 3 main themes:
- The most famous earthenware and porcelain factories of the Mons region, the Borinage, and part of northern France
- A collection of clay pipes from Nimy, Maisières, and Mons, as well as tobacco-related objects
- Objects relating to Nimy’s main industries and local folklore.
The museum will introduce you to a unique collection of nearly 40 earthenware and porcelain production sites.
