Housed in the recently renovated former House Jean Lescarts, the Collections House aims to introduce visitors to the history of Mons through the lens of communal collections. From prehistory to the present day, around a hundred items punctuate the thematic and chronological journey, with the history and heritage of Mons, as well as societal issues that affect us all, as the guiding threads. The house seeks to highlight the importance of memory and the transmission of a city’s heritage in shaping its evolution. It also offers a space for dialogue and civic participation: the Labo Room.
