Planted with majestic trees of varied species – maple-leafed plane trees, chestnut trees, linden trees – the park hosts a rich and diverse fauna. The wetlands, remnants of the ponds that once surrounded the fortress and the 16th-century residence, provide an ideal habitat for local biodiversity, to be discovered along the trails.

A preserved historical heritage

The park draws its charm from a centuries-old history, shaped notably by the last Count of Boussu, Maurice de Caraman. At the beginning of the 19th century, he transformed the estate into a romantic English-style park. The old moats were filled in to create a garden with multiple facets: well-maintained lawns, picturesque ponds, wooded areas, and winding paths where nature reveals itself sometimes free, sometimes sculpted.

A witness to that era, a restored old kiosk now serves as a nature observatory, offering visitors a privileged view of this enchanting setting.

A place for relaxation and activities

The castle park is an ideal place to recharge, with family or friends. Hikers, joggers, or those who enjoy peaceful walks will find their happiness here. A fitness trail with seven exercise stations over nearly a kilometer invites young and old to exercise in the midst of nature.

The Boussu Castle Park awaits you for an unforgettable experience, where nature, history, and relaxation harmoniously combine.
